Freakshow was one of the few mutants to survive the Sentinels' attack of the deep-water harbor of Hammer Bay, on the island of Genosha. He would later befriend the mutant female known as Wicked from the Genoshian guards. He was discovered by Professor X and joined his efforts to rebuild Genosha. Freakshow was among the mutants that lost their mutants abilities due to the Scarlet Witch's reality altering catastrophe known as House of M|M-Day. Quicksilver's use of the Terrigen Mists returned his powers, but left him trapped in the form of a hideous creature.
