Melvin Scarbo and his sister Susan were stage performers, who were billed as the Hypnotists Supreme. They made a mediocre living with their stage act, they both desired more, so they turned to a life of crime. His sister took the alias of "Suprema," and they began to train an army. They started off small taking on New York City's small-time crime bosses and casino owners. Having the experience of easy victories and apparent success they targeted S.H.I.E.L.D. next, however their endeavors were foiled by Captain America. Their exploits gained the attention of the Red Skull. The brother and sister duo eventually became members of the Skeleton Crew along with the mercenary Crossbones.
