Meet The Allies Captain Marvel Recruits in Mahkizmo's Apocalyptic Wasteland

The new CAPTAIN MARVEL series from Kelly Thompson and Carmen Carnero takes flight in 2019!

2019 will be the Year of Captain Marvel.

As revealed at this year's New York Comic Con, Kelly Thompson and Carmen Carnero will be helming Carol Danvers' next adventure, which sees Danvers back in New York City where she'll face new threats and obstacles. CAPTAIN MARVEL #2, releasing in February, will give the Avenger a new look and new (and old) allies.

In CAPTAIN MARVEL #2, Mahkizmo, the classic Fantastic Four villain, has taken over Manhattan's Roosevelt Island turning it into an apocalyptic wasteland. Trapped and cut off from the rest of the world (and the Avengers), Captain Marvel must pull together her own team—Spider-Woman, Hazmat, Echo, and a man known only as Som. In order to take on this foe, Captain Marvel and her team will need new looks suited for the environment.

Are you ready for the revolution! To get you hyped for the new series, writer Kelly Thompson teased out artist Carmen Carnero's designs for Carol and her team's apocalyptic looks.

With that kind of backup, Mahkizmo should be toast — but not everything is what it seems on this island…

CAPTAIN MARVEL #1, written by Kelly Thompson with art by Carmen Carnero, color by Tamra Bonvillain, and a cover by Amanda Conner, goes on sale Wednesday, January 2! CAPTAIN MARVEL #2 will follow in February. Stay tuned to Marvel.com for more news about this series and more!
