Celebrate Your Favorite Teleporting Mutt This #NationalDogDay with A Very Good Doggo (Puppy) Chow

This Sunday, August 26 is National Dog Day, and there’s no perfect pupper to recognize than our very own super-powered canine best friend, Lockjaw!

The four-legged Royal companion made his debut over 50 years ago in FANTASTIC FOUR #45 showcasing his very good across dimensional teleporting skills, and now this fall on the Disney Channel, you can find Lockjaw (voiced by the legendary Dee Bradley Baker) in “Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors” as Kamala AKA Ms. Marvel’s trusty, teleporting mutt. “Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors” features powered teens like Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Quake, Patriot, America Chavez, and Inferno, joining together, rising up, and taking on an unimaginable force that threaten their young lives and the universe, alike.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate National Dog Day than with a sweet treat inspired by this super-pupper, created by Jenn Fujikawa (@justjenn).

Lockjaw Puppy Chow
Recipe by Jenn Fujikawa (@justjenn)
(Note: For human and super-human consumption. We've got another treat for your puppers down below!)

Ingredients:

4 ½ cups rice cereal squares
⅔ cup white chocolate chips
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup powdered sugar
¼ cup red M&Ms
Pinch of salt

Directions:

• In a saucepan over low heat, melt the white chocolate chips and butter. Stir well until smooth and let cool slightly.
• Pour over the cereal and toss to coat.
• Pour half the powdered sugar into a plastic freezer bag, then add the cereal and shake to coat. Add the rest of the powdered sugar and toss again until all the cereal is covered in powdered sugar.
• Spread onto a baking sheet to cool completely.
• Once cooled, sprinkle in the M&Ms and store in an airtight container.
