'Marvel Contest of Champions': Summoner Showdown Tournament Begins July 31

This fall, a champion will be revealed! The Marvel Contest of Champions: Summoner Showdown, a nine-week mobile gaming tournament, will kick off on July 31 with the first livestream event. The Summoner Showdown is the longest tournament run by Kabam, and it will culminate in a final showdown at New York Comic Con in October where the winner will be crowned!

The weekly livestream events will take place at Marvel’s New York City Headquarters where three players will compete for their chance to earn their spot as a finalist. Fans will also get to witness the tournament for themselves by tuning in to Marvel.com/mcocshowdown and watching the competition in real time. Each week will bring players of the award-winning game together for a series of specially created challenges that will determine which finalists will move forward as the competition progresses. These challenges have yet to be revealed, but one of them will be the War Machine Durability Test, which will pit each player against an enhanced version of War Machine with enhanced armor and HP stats to determine who can survive the longest, or how much health participants have after three minutes per match.

Every finalist will get their chance to compete for the ultimate prize at New York Comic Con in October. One worthy player will be named the 2019 Marvel Contest of Champions: Summoner Showdown Champion and walk away with a slew of prizes including an extravagant trophy!
