‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’: Behind-the-Scenes of Daisy and Sousa’s New Relationship

If you haven’t watched the latest episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., there are unfiltered SPOILERS ahead!

In a clear case of opposites attract, say hello to Dousie. Daisy + Sousa = Dousie!

The latest episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduced us to a brand new couple, as Daisy and Agent Sousa realized that they have feelings for one another. While the team is caught in a never-ending time loop, Daisy slowly begins to understand that Sousa is willing — and ready — to do whatever she needs him to do without much explanation. He simply cares about her, as he explains that some of his favorite people are people like her: strong, determined, and never gives up. 

The reason behind pairing Daisy and Sousa up was a simple one, as they clearly complement the other’s strengths and weaknesses. 

“There has to be someone who balances her out and is powerful in their own way,” Chloe Bennet explains in the behind the scenes video, which you can watch above. “It was never going to make sen fit was another superhero, it had to be someone who is completely the opposite. He is so analogy and old school, and she’s literally like a computer nerd hacker.”

“There's a surprising connection between Daniel and Daisy,” Enver Gjokaj told Marvel.com. “I say ‘surprising’ because it comes as a shock, I think, to both of them, that she would be kind of able to form a connection with somebody who is so old school and so straight-laced, and that Daniel would have these protected feelings and possibly interests in Daisy because she does not seem like an obvious fit. It was a really fun dynamic to play, was the camaraderie at first between Daniel and Daisy, and then later what shocks them both by turning into more than just camaraderie.”
