Chris Pratt Would Bring Back His Father For 24 Hours to Watch 'Guardians of the Galaxy'
See Chris Pratt and Tom Holland as brothers on a magical adventure in Disney & Pixar's 'Onward' on March 6!
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's very own Star-Lord and Spider-Man, Chris Pratt and Tom Holland, respectively, are teaming up on an epic, magic-filled adventure with Disney & Pixar's Onward, arriving in theaters on March 6.
Pratt and Holland previously appeared together in Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
In Onward, teenage elf brothers Ian (voiced by Tom Holland) and Barley Lightfoot (voiced by Chris Pratt) get an unexpected opportunity to spend one more day with their late dad, as they embark on an extraordinary quest aboard Barley’s epic van Guinevere. Like any good quest, their journey is filled with magic spells, cryptic maps, impossible obstacles and unimaginable discoveries.
During a press conference for the film in Los Angeles, the audience asked Pratt, Holland, director Dan Scanlon and producer Kori Rae on who they would bring back for 24-hours and how they would spend their day.
Onward is inspired by Scanlon's personal experiences with his brother. He stated he would love to bring back his father and then "maybe take him to see the movie." He'd also want his father to know "what a phenomenal job my mother did raising [my brother and I]." Like the character Ian, Scanlon never knew his father, and only possesses one recording of their fathers' voices saying "hello" and "goodbye." Rae responded that she would spend the day with her late grandfather "just hanging out and asking him a ton of questions."
Holland revealed that his great-grandfather passed away when his grandfather, Bob, was only 18 months old. Selflessly, he would bring back his great-grandfather so he and Bob would have the opportunity to meet each other.
Pratt shared he would bring back his late dad "who passed away just before Guardians of the Galaxy came out." Pratt stated, "I would show him Guardians of the Galaxy," before joking, "if he didn't like it, I would bring back a known criminal to beat him up on Instgram Live and become popular."
"If my dad didn't like Guardians of the Galaxy, I'd be like 'alright, gee, go back, dad," continued Pratt.
Pratt was previously seen in Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame, while Holland was last seen in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Experience that magic first-hand with Pratt and Holland when Onward comes to theaters March 6.
