Shot on location in Los Angeles, Wonder Man is a story about filmmaking and ambition, starring Abdul-Mateen as actor Simon Williams. Speaking to the crowd, Abdul-Mateen opened up about playing an actor in a world of Super Heroes.

"As an actor, there's so much that goes into it," he said. "There's vulnerability, there's ego, there's hopes and dreams, there's ambition, there's the lonely road. As Simon, I get to walk that fine line and experience all of that. I'm really excited to share Simon's journey towards achieving his dream."

Kingsley also spoke about reprising his role as Trevor Slattery and reuniting with director Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). He added that Wonder Man was in many ways a love letter to the city of Los Angeles and the actors and crew members who call it home.

"LA is emblematic of people's dreams in this whole wonderful entertainment industry," Kingsley added. "So, we were constantly fed by that wonderful working environment. It was a great gift to film it. We were amongst all these iconic echoes of the great Hollywood years, which are still perpetuated now."

Wonder Man will debut on Disney+ on January 27, 2026, at 6 p.m. PT.  Watch the trailer above.
