Watch These MCU Movies and Shows for Halloween

Ready to be frightened? Dive into the scariest movies and shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with this Halloween watch guide!

Agatha All Along

Wondering what to watch this spooky season? The MCU has all the gory and ghostly goods, ripe for your consumption, available on Disney+ now! So pop the corn and grab a blanket for some thrills and chills with any one of these fright-filled flicks (or all of them for those who appreciate a viewing party).

WandaVision (2021)

WandaVision

Picking up after Avengers: Infinity War (2018), WandaVision follows Wanda Maximoff grieving the loss of her beloved Vision by conjuring up a picture-perfect world inspired by various television shows from across the decades. In the Scarlet Witch’s version of Westview, Vision is alive and well, and the couple leads a seemingly normal suburban life. On the surface, everything’s coming up roses, but something sinister lurks beneath Wanda’s world, and things start to unravel when unexpected visitors start poking holes in her new reality.

WandaVision’s unnerving tone, its cinematographic interruptions, and its eerie advertisements throughout might raise the hairs on the back of your neck. It also features powerful witches, hexes (IYKYK), and an episode dedicated to Halloween with costumes that are to die for!

What If…? (2021): What If... Zombies?! (Season 1, Episode 5)

Marvel Zombies Captain America

If the Avengers were zombies, could they be stopped? Marvel Animation’s What If...? presents one possible answer to this question. In another universe, Janet Van Dyne contracted a virus that turned her into a zombie while lost in the Quantum Realm. When she returned to Earth, the virus spread and began wiping out Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Everyone knows that zombies eat human flesh and spread terror with their insatiable hunger. But what makes these zombies particularly scary is that they once were Avengers. And as far as zombie stories go, super-powered zombies are an altogether different kind of monster. Try to keep track of every grisly death in this episode; you may just lose count.

Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness (2022)

Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness

Following the time travel antics of Avengers: Endgame, Doctor Strange now turns his attention to the Multiverse. When the Scarlet Witch sets her sights on America Chavez, a teenage girl who punches star-shaped portals into parallel realities, Strange and Wong dive headfirst into the Multiverse to help her. Together, they face the dangers of the Darkhold, a powerful tome rippling with dark magic. The former-surgeon-turned-sorcerer Dr. Strange risks everything to protect his new ally, with the fate of his own universe hanging in the balance.

Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness is arguably a Halloween film in many ways. From freaky body contortions and gruesome deaths to tentacled beasts and decomposing corpse puppets, the movie cracks open the ominous side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hold on to your seats and brace for a mind-bending and bone-chilling romp through the Multiverse.

Werewolf by Night (2022)

Werewolf By Night

On a fog-filled night, monster hunters from around the world gather to honor their dearly departed leader, Ulysses Bloodstone. They decide to keep his memory alive with a ceremonial hunt that will determine his successor. The victor’s prize? A powerful gem known as the Bloodstone. Famed death dealers, such as Jack Russell and Ulysses’ own estranged daughter, Elsa Bloodstone, compete in this hunter’s game, warned that their prey was a monster unlike any other.

Presented in black and white, Werewolf By Night is reminiscent of classic monster movies, ripe with legendary fiends and horrors. The creepy stature of the monsters, the campy sense of humor, and the thrill of a deadly, and sometimes gruesome, hunt make for a frightful flick! Plus, the Special Presentation is also available in Technicolor for those who need to shed some of the darkness. Watch it under a full moon… if you dare!

X-Men ‘97 (2024): “Fire Made Flesh” (Season 1, Episode 3)

X-Men '97

While X-Men ‘97 might be known for its sci-fi, globe-trotting adventures, the X-Men have had their fair share of forays with the unknown and uncanny. With a second season around coming next year, the animated series is well worth a re-watch, especially when seeking seasonal scares. The eerie episode “Fire Made Flesh” has all the ghouls and goblins that Halloween devotees could hope for: unnerving clones, possession, body horror, exorcism, and their very own Goblin Queen. For our merry band of mutants, it’s the stuff of nightmares, but fans will revel in this singular take on the haunted mansion trope, X-Men style.

Agatha All Along (2024)

Agatha All Along

Last seen in WandaVision and trapped by the Scarlet Witch, Agatha Harkness was broken free by the amnesiac “Teen” searching for power. Hoping to restore her magic, she joined the mysterious Teen on a quest to the famed Witches’ Road, where they could unlock their desires. Agatha and Teen gathered a coven of reluctant witches from her past, including Lilia Calderu, Jennifer Kale, Alice Wu-Gulliver, and more, to journey down this perilous path.

This comedic fantasy horror series pits the coven against magical dangers that have real-world consequences for our beloved witches. But beyond the show’s creepy and mysterious atmosphere, Agatha All Along stands out for its bewitching ballad that viewers can sing along to. From the tension between mentor and mentee to the melodrama of former paramours, this show has it all. We advise watching it during the witching hour!

Marvel Zombies (2025)

Marvel Zombies

In Marvel Animation’s Marvel Zombies, return to the apocalyptic timeline from What If... Zombies?! and meet the last standing heroes of this reality. Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, and Riri Williams lead the charge for humanity’s survival. Besides the zombies’ grisly groans and blood-soaked battles, familiar faces like Yelena Belova and Shang-Chi also return in this series. But will these heroes remain allies, or will they be former friends turned into insatiable foes? If you’ve got a queasy stomach, don’t watch this show while eating. You’ve been warned.
